Stoneware, fired with wood and patience
We are a two-person studio making everyday pots: mugs, bowls, plates and a few larger jars each season.
How the pots are made
Everything is thrown on the wheel from a local stoneware body, left to dry slowly, then bisque fired. The glaze firing happens in our wood kiln, which takes about thirty hours of stoking. Ash settles on the pots as they fire, so no two come out alike.
Where to find them
Most of what we make goes to the people who ask for it between firings. After each firing we set aside a small batch for seasonal markets. If you are after something particular, a set of plates or a lidded jar, write to us and we will tell you when the next firing has room.
Care
The pots are food safe and fine in the dishwasher. Wood-fired surfaces vary: small marks from the kiln are part of the process, not flaws.
